Portraits: Children and Family

We're going to bring back portrait photography to PanFocus Studios! G and A are brother and sister who are born and being raised in our beautiful San Francisco. Stow Lake is a great place to take Fall photos at, so that's where we took them for these fun-loving portraits.

PanFocus Studios will be adjusting package pricing for EVENT photos starting March 2015. Events are birthdays, baptisms, milestone celebrations, festivals, concerts, performances.... anything with the gathering of people!

If you book us before December 31, 2014 for an event starting in March 2015, we will honor our 2014 prices! We are not available for events in January and February 2015. These new package pricing will be posted by the end of December.

Weddings and Photobooth packages will remain the same in 2015.

What I absolutely adore about photographing children's events are the colorful decorations, dedicated parents putting on a great party, and kid stuff that kids do. I love capturing moments (cliche, yes, there's a reason) and this birthday was no different. I have been building myself as a children's birthday photographer, and I very much enjoy attending them as a photographer.

This past July, I covered this first birthday party with a carnival-theme. The venue was at Willows Event Venue, and its naturally-lit windows are ever gorgeous. Parties that are heavily themed and ladened with decorations, goodie bags and a nice cake make for a wonderful time shooting birthday details! In the outdoor area, there was a bouncehouse and a fishing game involving a swimming tub that our birthday girl got very obsessed with! Little Miss V also had a cake for smashing, but she preferred to dip her toes in it instead.

We set up a mobile version of the PEPbooth, made to serve an outdoor street event such as Sunday Streets. This was from this past Sunday, located in the Mission (on Valencia to be exact).

Thank you to Beth of Livable City for having us at Sunday Streets, and the folks at Natural Resources for letting us use their electrical outlet to make this photobooth happen.

Last July, I was asked on a last minute to take portraits for this family who is based in SoCal, and was meeting in San Francisco with other family members who were returning from overseas deployment. You can say it's a reunion (because it was), and these photos were capturing them as a mostly complete family. One member was not able to join them, unfortunately, but this was the most complete they were. I jumped on the opportunity since this was a personal referral, and I couldn't say "no" to folks travelling long ways just to have their photos taken.

It was decided to have the photos done at one of my favorite spots, Palace of Fine Arts. Yes it was crowded with tourists and locals, and the dome was even closed off for a wedding. With a number of family this big, we only had time to pick out a few areas to take photos, but I think we were able to get memorable images!

The day after operating our photobooth at a school dance, I headed over to Fremont to cover twin boys' birthday. The decorative details were very festive for toddler twins, and the jungle theme with choice of colorful balloons offered a very child-friendly vibe. The Cat in the Hat was present for some magic, balloons and facepainting. It was a very colorful party to say the least.
