Walking the Golden Gate Bridge | Lifestyle Photographer | San Francisco, CA
Last Sunday, June 10, my 4 year old son shared that it's always been his dream to walk on the Golden Gate Bridge. He's right -- he's never been on it before, but he is fully aware of its existence. As for it being "his dream" I think he's only heard that phrase before and felt it right to express it that way that he desired to be on the bridge. So without any real plans for that afternoon (really, the plan was to clean on a gorgeous day) we packed up after lunch and set for the GGB.
Both he and my 2 year old daughter walked the whole northbound span. On foot. That was also my first time going on foot to the end of the bridge. I've always driven through it, even biked it once, but never on foot. I'm proud of my two foot soldiers for making it so far! But on the way back, they had to be carried. That was a very long walk, and my feet were already sore -- how much more theirs?

This cargo ship had entered the golden state, and we were there to see it happen below.
So happy!
And to celebrate the completion of the first 1.7 mile walk, they got to climb the fence on the Marin County side of the bridge.
